Aspect Enterprise Solutions Named “Technology House Of The Year” At Annual Energy Risk Asia Awards
September 25, 2014
Leading global cloud vendor Aspect Enterprise Solutions has been recognized for its innovative technology winning the coveted award for “Technology House of the Year” by Energy Risk Asia in its annual awards ceremony this week in Singapore. It’s the third year in a row Aspect Enterprise Solutions has brought home a key award following its wins for top technology and ETRM awards the past two years.
Due to its web-based technology, the overall cost of implementing and running its flagship energy trading and risk solution, AspectCTRM, can be as little as a quarter of what a traditional vendor would charge for the equivalent functionality, according to Aspect Enterprise Solutions’s president and chief executive Steve Hughes.
“Our use of cloud technology means that the overall project costs are a lot lower than traditional vendors. Our software is no cheaper than others but the overall cost of ownership is a fraction of the large vendors,” he says. This is mainly due to implementation times averaging five weeks compared to six to 12 months or more for a traditional vendor, and recent technological advances which make the system easier to install and upgrade.”
AspectCTRM has seen tremendous growth over the past four years, adding more customers than any other vendor in the space. Over the past 12 months, AspectCTRM has grown by 18% in revenue. In Asia, Aspect Enterprise Solutions’s recent success includes a full front-to-back-office implementation for MRI, a large Asian commodities trader, and Tokyo-based trading house Mitsubishi extending its contract and increasing the value of it by 24%.
Aspect Enterprise Solutions’s underlying technology environment called AESthetics is a driving force in its success. The aim of AESthetics is to take the complexity out of customizing and deploying commodity trade and risk solutions while empowering customers with tools they can use to adapt. AESthetics creates standardization and tools that allow companies to make changes to their own solution without the need for specific code development and associated costs. Unlike other vendor solutions, it relies on configuration over customization for reports, integration, workflows, and other solution requirements. AESthetics has also opened the door to new partners who are able to sell, deploy and support companies regionally and independently of Aspect Enterprise Solutions.
