Commodity and energy trading professionals kicked off Labor Day weekend by watching an exciting Houston Astros baseball game Friday night in Aspect’s premium box suite. Guests enjoyed complimentary food and beverages while networking with industry peers from luxury seats. US Sales Director, Patrick Hayes, spoke with trade, risk and operations professionals on how Aspect Enterprise Solutions’ cutting-edge CTRM software is transforming the way trading firms do business by providing customized, cloud solutions that are deployed in just a few weeks. Guests included Aspect clients Chemium, Unipec, Bominflot and Plains All American Pipeline who rely on AspectCTRM for trade & risk management and AspectDSC for comprehensive commodity market data

Here are a few highlights from the game:

Aspect clients and industry colleagues enjoyed classic ballpark food including hot dogs and sliders while watching the game. Did you know that American baseball fans are predicted to consume roughly 19 million hot dogs this year during the Major League Baseball season? Many stadiums put a spin on the classic hot dog, including the Rangers’ Cheetos Jalapeno Bacon Dog and the Diamondbacks’ Asada Dog.

Guests got a close up view of the Houston Astros taking on the Los Angeles Angels. This time around, the Angels won 3-0, but the two teams have gone head to head numerous times in the past, with the Astros winning the majority of the games. The Astros won the 2017 World Series, and have a chance of winning once again.

Rain is no issue for the Astros when they play a home game. Minute Maid Park, which opened in 2000, is one of six MLB stadiums that has a retractable roof, which takes up to 20 minutes to fully close.

Industry professionals networked throughout the night in the premium suite which offered private lounge areas and a view deck located just above Center Field. US Sales Director Patrick Hayes spoke with guests about what sets AspectCTRM apart from other CTRM software, including Aspect’s multi-tenanted cloud technology.

Baseball games have brought people together since the MLB hosted the first World Series in 1903. The New York Yankees have the most world championships with 27 wins. Barry Bonds holds the record for most home runs, he’s hit 762! Although there weren’t accurate measurement tools during Babe Ruth’s playing days, it’s speculated that the famous baseball player hit the longest home run, coming in at over 600 feet.
